Recently, my hubby visited the optometrist and found that he was in need of bi-focals. He ordered progressive lenses which ended up being a bust since they don’t allow for peripheral vision. So now he has prescription sunglasses, prescription single vision glasses for far-sight and prescription reading glasses. He gets to travel around with three pairs of glasses everywhere he goes. Talk about making a person feel older than he is.

LASEK eye surgery seems to be a better choice if you’re anything like my husband. Not only does LASIK and LASEK eye surgery help you see better, you’ll certainly love shedding the cumbersome daily ritual of cleaning and adjusting glasses or contacts. New York LASEK is safe and convenient, taking just a few hours to correct your vision. This is an in and out, same day procedure and virtually eliminates the need for corrective lenses.

Finding a doctor in New York City or the New York Metro area can also be daunting. Many doctors and their clinics can also be found by searching out New York LASEK on the Internet. Many of the sites that come up on the search engine have doctor’s credentials and patient testimonials. It may also be beneficial to ask your co-workers or family members for recommendations. Perhaps your regular opthamologist has a recommendation, assuming that he/she doesn’t do the procedure themselves.

As I grow increasingly comfortable with the idea of LASIK or LASEK, I now need to research doctors and clinics. Sometimes consulting with the doctor and/or his staff can give you a good indication if that particular clinic is the place for you. However, getting recommendations from friends, family and co-workers are probably more beneficial. For peace of mind purposes, don’t overlook their wisdom.
